Crusted Chicken over Broccoli Rice Pilaf with Creamy Cheddar Sauce

After eating breakfast I really didn't think I could ever eat again, haha. Of course dinner time came along though and I was starving. So I looked around and found some ideas and came up with some crusted pretzel chicken, broccoli rice pilaf, and cheese sauce. Those three flavors mixed together created an amazing combination of flavors!
Start by cracking an egg over a plate.
Whisk in 1/2 a tablespoon of Dijon mustard.
Add 1 1/2 cups pretzels into a baggy and crush with a rolling pin.
Add the crushed pretzels onto a plate
Chop up 1/2 a tablespoon of fresh thyme.
Add the thyme to the pretzels and stir around
Pound your chicken into flat pieces and coat in the egg mixture
Then coat both sides in the pretzel mixture
Add olive oil to a medium heat pan
Add the chicken to the pan...
Flip...
While the chicken cooks, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a medium heat pot
Then add in 1 heaping tablespoon of flour and whisk together.
Whisk in 1 cup milk
And finally 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir together until melted thick and smooth. Add in black pepper to taste.
Lastly you can begin the rice pilaf.... Add 1 tablespoon of butter to a medium heat pot..
Chop 3/4 cup broccoli...
Then chop 1/2 cup yellow onion...
Add the broccoli to the pot...
Then add the onion to the pot and stir for three minutes until the veggies begin to become tender...
Then add 1/2 cup of long grain rice and cook for one minute...

Then add 1 1/2 cup chicken broth (or 1 1/2 cups water and 1 1/2 chicken bullion cubes)
Cover and let cook until tender... Place rice on plate with chicken and cheddar cheese, ENJOY!
