Apple Pie Caramel Apples

Walking around the grocery store the other day I saw all sorts of caramel apples. Something about caramel apples just makes my heart melt. Tonight when I was craving something sweet I decided to give them a try with a little twist!

Start out by placing two apples in the freezer. I used gala.
Then unwrap 20 caramels into a microwave safe bowl
Add in 2 teaspoons of room temp water. Place in the microwave on medium power for one minute
Pull out of the microwave and stir quickly to make smooth
Pull the apples out of the freezer and remove the stem and pop in a skewer or Popsicle stick
Roll the apple in the caramel. Place on a piece of freezer paper on a plate and put back in the freezer
Fill a microwave safe bowl with white chocolate morsels (about half a bag) Then place in the microwave for a minute. If it's too thick you can add a little milk
In a separate bowl add 1 cup brown sugar
Sprinkle in a few dashes of cinnamon
And a few dashes of pumpkin pie spice
Once the chocolate is ready swirl the apple in it
And finally while the chocolate is still tacky pat on some of the sugar mix
Place back on a plate in the refrigerator until ready to eat. Cut up and enjoy!
