Cornbread Croutons

To go along with the delicious spicy caesar dressing we made the fresh cornbread croutons to go on top of the salad! They were fun to make and delicious to snack on!

To start you want to make a fresh pan of cornbread! In a bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together.

Add in buttermilk, milk, egg, and melted butter...

The secret trick I learned from my mom is to add in some honey! Makes the cornbread a little bit tastier!!! Whisk in the honey and pour into dish. Bake in the oven until golden brown.

Once the cornbread is done baking, let cool for a few minutes before cutting. Then cut into smaller sized cubes and throw onto lined baking pan.

Melt butter in a small dish and drizzle over the top of the cubes on the baking pan. Stick under the broiler until crispy. Cool, and add to salad! Enjoy!
